Well well well. I know thats a deep subject. Where do I begin. Lets start with
the title. What is its meaning? Im not sure when it started but it has
been used many times over the years on our annual golf outings. When the
majority of your shots are great some one invokes the dreaded reversion to the
means which in short means said player will eventually screw up as they always
do. Which brings us to today but it actually started three weeks ago. As we do,
fire-starter and I bet on everything. You remember the death trap, well the bet
was I couldn't rebuild the front end and drive it to work by 9/1/2022. $100.00
prize. I had this in the bag as of the morning of 8/27/2022. I could taste a
sweet sweet victory. Front end together all buttoned up 30 minutes from front
end alignment and victory was mine. So the Cuda needed a quick bath to make the trip to the alignment shop. Battery hooked up, turn the key to start, and the
most god awful stomach turning sound you could hear... metal on metal grinding.
I almost s_ _t. I get out and see a sea of antifreeze coating my garage floor
like a emerald green coastline. What happened.... ahh what did happen it was fine a week ago. Weird music plays as I go into the way back machine and I see that I was jacking the car up and it slipped off the jack. When that happened I
thought ohhh I hope I didn't damage the transmission lines. No worries friends I
did not. What I did was bend the fan blade and did not know it. So ipso facto
when I went to start it up the fan sliced through the radiator like a hot knife
through butter. So the taste of victory left pretty quickly and the taste of
defeat was sickening and lingering. I had to cancel the alignment and heard
snickers of Chevy's don't do that to fire-starter invoking the dreaded
reversion to the means. With my tail between my legs I admitted defeat. But
fire starter graciously waved his winnings and said put it towards the new
radiator. I ordered the new Rad got it in on the Sept 1st (figures and i think
its the wrong size duh). I don't have the courage to check yet. Ill save
that for another day. Happy Labor Day all and get that QTL. Till next time.
