# 25 Bar Harbor and Laub Stau Part A

Well we finally made it our first trip of the year to Bar Harbor Maine and Arcadia National Park. Day one we drove to a wonderful winery called Spy Glass Vineyard in Sunbury Pa. Not only a quiet mid state oasis but a fabulous restaurant. The food was fantastic, the wine was delicious, best Cabernet bar none, and the setting spectacular. Nestled in a quiet farm community they have a venue that has concerts from the likes of Styx, Foreigner, and ZZ Top. Highly recommend this stay with Harvest Hosts. Don’t even ask about the "I cant see the road sign" drive the back roads and hope for the best. The owners Tom was and his wife were great hosts. Day two travel to Brimfield Winery in Massachusetts another go to spot for sure. First I need to point out the New Hampshire state motto ... "Live Free or Die". Yet as soon as I cross the state line they have huge signs for Alcohol and Lottery for sale open on Sundays. I know it’s a head scratcher. Anyway as much as the roads sucked on the way but the wine was worth the trip. When we were there they had a car show with oldies music, which was a very nice distraction from a day of bad roads and long hours of driving.

Day three finally arrived in Bar Harbor another long day of driving and so so roads until we hit Maine the roads were like glass go figure. Side note question??? Is pulling or backing into your spot to be ruled by committee? In my experience and watching other drivers whether driving a class A or class C motor home or pulling a Fifth wheel or Travel trailer working with their partner it seems the driver knows nothing and their partner knows it all. Usually because they like to make up their own hand signals for left-right-back-forward and the best stop. After a few minutes of arguing with each other with our inside voices Mrs. G.O.M. gives me her special hand signal countdown. You know 5-4-3-2-🖕. All so familiar. Spent the rest of the day setting up relaxing and cocktails, the rejuvenator of all men and women. All is well with the universe again. We met a great couple next to us Shawn and Lorraine from Philadelphia, I didn’t hold it against them when they mentioned the Phillies I just pulled the old ace in hole out, the Great Pittsburgh Steelers. They are wonderful people and great neighbors. They gave us great tips on places to eat and what to see in the area. Tomorrow the real adventure begins. . .
